From plant to product
Not a sponge from a factory. A fruit from a vine.
Loofah is the dried fibrous skeleton of the luffa gourd, a climbing plant in the cucumber family. Once ripe and dried, its natural mesh becomes a firm, springy exfoliator with no plastic at all.
Grown
The luffa gourd ripens on the vine until its inner fibres turn strong and dense.
Sun-dried
Skin and seeds are removed and the fibre is dried, leaving the natural mesh.
Cut & stitched
The fibre is pressed flat, cut to shape and stitched into layered panels.
Hand-finished
Bound in unbleached cotton twill, fitted with straps and loops, then checked by hand.
